E N G L I S H THE MASKS  HAVE A GREAT MEANING AND BEAUTY Give a distinction touch and originality to their desk or working place, or to accentuate that quality that you want with these beautiful ones and masks elaborated by Mexican artisans in natural soapstone with inlays of abalone shell and base in obsidian stone.   The man has used masks from immemorial time. Elaborated with diverse materials, and their reasons have been ritual and ornamental.   The oldest masks in the prehispanic cultures date 1000 years, however, it is believed that their use could have been previous to that. In the prehispanic world, the masks were used mainly to represent deities, and they were also an important part of the attire of the warriors. The noblemen requested masks of diverse proportions; some, not very big and plane in the part of behind, and they were placed, as one believes, in the belts of the rulers; but there was also mask-portrait elaborated with mosaic technique and blended with other materials, as the shell and the obsidian. A simple mask changed the person’s essence when being in front of her, being allowed this way to carry even authority. The masks were chosen carefully by their owners. We have the following colors:

E S P A Ñ O L LAS MÁSCARAS TIENEN UN GRAN SIGNIFICADO Y BELLEZA Déle un toque de distinción y originalidad a su escritorio o lugar de trabajo, o para acentuar esa cualidad que usted desea con estas bellas y finas máscaras elaboradas por artesanos mexicanos en piedra de jaboncillo natural  con incrustaciones de concha de abulón  y base en piedra de obsidiana.   El hombre ha usado máscaras desde tiempo inmemorial. Elaboradas con materiales diversos, y sus motivos han sido rituales y ornamentales.   Las máscaras más antiguas de las culturas prehispánicas datan de 1000 años a.C., sin embargo, se cree que su uso pudo haber sido anterior a eso. En el mundo prehispánico, las máscaras eran usadas principalmente para representar deidades, y también eran una parte importante del atuendo de los guerreros. Los nobles pedían máscaras de diversas proporciones; algunas, no muy grandes y planas en la parte de atrás, y eran colocadas, según se cree, en los cinturones de los gobernantes;  pero también había máscaras-retrato elaboradas con técnica de mosaico y mezcladas con otros materiales, como la concha y la obsidiana. Una simple máscara cambiaba la esencia de la persona al estar frente a ella, permitiéndose de esta manera portar inclusive autoridad. Las máscaras eran elegidas cuidadosamente por sus portadores. Las máscaras están elaboradas totalmente a mano en piedra de jaboncillo, onix, pizarra, y obsidiana con incrustación de concha de abulón.
